Day 1 and 2- Travel
Atlanta to San Francisco. SF to Tokyo and Tokyo to Bangkok.
Good seats so got some rest and ate some good food. Still, 27 hours of travel is tough.
Arrived at hotel at about 11 PM Friday night and it was very hot and sticky in Bangkok. JW Marriott is just as nice as I remember.
I think you could pull off either trip but if it is your first time visting the region you might consider just visiting Thailand and Cambodia with 2 weeks.
I have tried about 10 ways of getting you the info but it looks like Yahoo travel does not allow links or email addresses. If you search trip advisor for Tek Leng you will find the contact information.
Have a great trip!
I really enjoyed your trip notes. I was wondering if you could provide the contact details of Tek or the company he works for, so that I could set up a similar trip to Cambodia next year. I like the personal touch of having a local take you around the sites to provide an insight into recent history and culture. Thanks.
In Siem Reap the Le Meridien Angkor is very nice indeed. You will pay extra for it but the rooms and staff are worthy of the only 5 star hotel in the area (OK by western standards it would only be a 3 or 4 star but compared to other hotels in the area it is among the best).
Hope this helps-
Mike
