New Journal Entry

friday:

the drive up here was great. spectacularly beautiful. we arrived in mount shasta city at 6pm with enough light to see the mountain and surroundings. we checked into our room which happened to be more like their chalets  than a hotel room. very nice and clean.  we had dinner at the resort restaurant. the staff is great, nice upto speed and i actually felt like i under tipped them. the meal was ok i had prime rib and while it is usually  my fave i was alittle disappointed. my wife had meatloaf that was good but not what she expected. for the two of us to have three drinks and our meal came to $70.

back the room we discovered that our hottub bath drain did not shut all the way so that kinda sucked and we had to have maintanence come fix itthey did but it took long enough for my wife to fall asleep!!!!!!. we'll see what happens in the mornin good night.

Saturday:

Good mornin. got up early like always and let des sleep for a few hrs. we are still at the Mt Shasta Resort, and getting ready to check out and get on the road. the resort has been ok. the shower this mornin was great very powerful water pressure made it very nice. we will be leaving here for breakfast at the same place here at the resort Highland House Restaurant, hope the food is better this mornin.

on the way to crescent city we stopped at a burl wood store and looked around. i have been to a few and have to say by far this one is the best. they artists really know what they are looking to do with each piece of wood they handle. everything is hand crafted and every detail is there to really get a feel  for  what ur looking at. the owners are very nice and even showed us around the entire place so we could make a good chioce and even plan on future purchases.

Well we made it to crescent city, the drive was great. my wife and i had alot of fun taking pictures onn the way as well as stopping in the redwood. we took a short walk through them and the scenery was spectacular. it's a little cold so bring a light jacket. there was one spot that had a root that i would swear was 18 ft tall on it's side the trunk was all of 10 ft tall and spaned 40 ft before it was broke and we could not see it anymore.

so we made the remaining 20 miles to crescent city and found our hotel, wow amazing beautiful coastline. we checked into our room and the staff was everything u come to expect of a high profile hotel like the hampton inn. very friendly and curtious. we got up to our room and found that it had a balcony as well as the hottub bath in the room..... the pictures to follow tell the rest of the story.  nice spacious room with a view of the ocean of the balcony. guess what? the hottub works sorry i can't show those pics hahaha but for now i am gonna curl up next to my wife and sleep. good night!!!!
