New Journal Entry
I don't feel like typing right now but we are now in Edinburgh, Scotland. Amsterdam was a blast. To make this short, I will provide a quick recap.
We got to Amsterdam at 6:30 AM (Amsterdam time, which is 7 hours ahead of Mountain time) and we rode the train to Rembrandt Square (the location of our apartment). We killed a few hours and had a hell of a time finding a place to relax and drink coffee at that hour. The city seemed dead between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM. I managed to get some "coffee" to fix me up right when my parents were checking in. Phew! What a relief I felt! ;) Once we checked in we got some food, check some stuff out.....nothing spectacular. We later went out for a few drinks. My mom and dad fizzled out a little early (but not really1am early). Ty and I ended up in Liedsplien (spelling?) Square and check out a few places. We ended up at a bar called "The Last Waterhole." It happened to be open mic night. I got up and played "Boy with a coin" and "Hey girl." It was a lot of fun!
The second day we walked all over that city. It was really interesting to experience the city in that manner. We went to some very quaint places. We tried to go to the Heineken Experience only to find it was closed for renovation. HUGE bummer! We filled the remainder of the day with beer drinking and wandering.
The third day we made it to the Anne Frank House. That was amazing yet eerie. We then jumped on the tram and tried to make it to the Van Gough Museum before it closed. We passed our stop and went too far. We happened to be close to Vondel Park, which was huge. We were told it is Amsterdam’s "Back Yard" since Amsterdam pretty much has no grass anywhere except for in the parks. We went back to the Apartment and had a beer and relaxed for a bit. We all went out for a drink later. Ty and I took my parents to the waterhole. They liked it. There was live music again. Much to our surprise they were inviting people up to jam with the house band. I got up there and sang "Doing Time" by Sublime. It was awesome! (although I got cut off early). I think old Stanley wanted to be the center of attention again after his break from the stage (long story). But the house band picked up the song pretty well. The bass player was fantastic, the drummer was great and the saxophone player was phenomenal! It was fun.
The last day we managed to send our postcards, make it to the Van Gough Museum (which was awesome!) and got a few last souvenirs before making our journey to the airport en route to Scotland! And now, here we are, in Scotland and the last thing I'll say before letting you go is, "We blend in with the people here quite a bit more than we did in Amsterdam! And they can keep up with us and our drinking! Must be because they can't smoke pot here. I dunno."

P.S. That wasn't as short as I meant it to be, yet, not as long as it should be. Now I'm off to drink with the Scots! ;)
Boys, how was the Red-light District in Amsterdam?? Did you guys have fun?
