vacation

This was our first night of 7. I will update the review if any of my opinions change. Checking in was a little confusing. There are no signs from Las Vegas Blvd to the registration area, so it's trial & error until you find it. We got in a few minutes before the 3pm checkin time and our room was not ready, so we had to wait. No biggee. Neither front desk clerk we dealt with had good english skills. Once in the room, the bellhop was super fast bringing up our luggage. The 5th Ave (newly renovated room) is ok, nothing special, although they make a big deal about it in their advertising. After a 4 hour flight and a long wait for the rental car, we were ready to get into our room and get something to eat. Tried the "America" restaurant. Decent prices, but the service and food quality reflected that. Wandered around the casino area, which is surrounded by shops and many eating options. People seemed to be transplanted from NYC, they were in a hurry and rude and it was very crowded for such a large space. Within the first few minutes, we were accosted by the first of many timeshare agents, presenting us with out of date coupon books and that greasy sales smile they all seem to have. For sure, we feel like we are in NYC, one without a Central Park or any of the other redeeming features of the real place. To be continued...
