More to Do-Buy @ Dubai

Dubai is indeed a 'Do and Buy' place to be with large shopping malls that you can really shop till you drop. However, ImageI must say that getting around in Dubai is difficult without cabs which can cost a lot if you are on a budget trip. Luckily for me, my hotel is just a few minutes walk to a large shopping mall and I spent my time there before my tour excursion. The sundune dinner I went to was really marvellous. It started off by a short city round about on a jeep before heading further out to the Desert Conservation Reserve. This camel must me really wondering why I'm huddling it's head so close to me cos it's eyes were goggling around. I think I'm the only one that 'grabbed' it's neck for a shoot while the ours merely stood by it for a photo. The falcon, their official national bird, is kept as a pet for the Arabians and they take them out in their cars! Image

Gosh...the falcon is indeed heavy (gotta use two hands to support).

ImageViewing sunset in the desert is a unique experience... and whilst waiting for sunset, my hunger pangs stirred in (cos didn't have a heavy lunch as I'm expecting a 'coaster sundune' ride). Goodness, I saw the orange hue and the yellish orange ball of sun as yolk in mooncake! I don't normally crave for a yolk in my mooncake but that perculiar thought of mine at that time now sends me off giggling about how your brain can really associate things according to your mood. So, off to dinner after the sun dipped behind the sanddunes. The dinner wasn't a spread (but it was when all were hungry) but in fact very carbo-loading. You've starters like cheese and spinach pitas, kebab, dumplings (with thicker dough than usual- not the thin ones you get for chinese dim sum) etc. The mains are briyani rice, pita, grilled chicken, lamb, beef etc. the belly dance performance was the highlight of the dinner. All tourists I must say were super spotty...all of us just skipped down to the dance floor to dance or belly shake our heads off (i must emphasize that most of the tourist were in their late 50s...in fact you can easily count the number of youngsters like me). That concludes the night, as well as my one-day stopover. Image
See... that's my car..haha..I've put it on a display at the Dubai International airport.
