Pokeno II Weekend Getaway

We arrived in Foley around noon. Took a drive around the Foley area to get an idea of what they have to offer.  Drive along the beach and stopped at the store to get a few items we forgot.

We met up with four more of our crew for lunch at the MELLOW MUSHROOM. What a great place. Casual attire and friendly service. Food was great. So we just hung and relaxed while waiting on check in.

Arrived at the hotel at 2pm for check in. Everyone started arriving...(I neglected to tell you...we are a group of 19)... and checking in with me to collect keys among other things. Once everyone arrived we decided to eat at Lamberts Cafe. We all had a blast! Some even got some extra suprises. After dinner we all took a nice swim in the pool and just hung out.

On Saturday some of went on a airboat ride in Spanish Fort.  What a great thing. I never thought I'd enjoy doing that! We hit a few flea markets on the way back into Foley, we went horseback riding, shopping at Burris Farm Produce and lunch at Charley's . While we were doing this...others were hanging at the beach, some at the Tanger Mall, some shopping at the little shops, some toured around town and other enjoyed a nap. We all met up at 2 pm and went on the dolphin cruise. We saw lots of dolphins...4 to 7 at a time. We were told they were "dancing". We also had a nature tour as part of this cruise. Very informative. After our "two hour tour" we went shopping for the people we left at home. Found lots of cute things. Others found FLORA BAMA! We all ended up at the hotel pool once the sun went down. Those who decided to eat enjoyed the Shrimp Basket next door. They had take out.

Sunday morning my plan was to sleep in and have a nice slow morning.....I woke at 6AM!!!  So much for that....We just hung around the room for a while. Had breakfast at Mc Donalds and cruised on back home to Louisiana.

ALL IN ALL......GREAT TRIP.......CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!
