I couldn't believe that the day had finally come! Having completed my finals, moved out of the dorm, and repacked for my trip to Italy all within a week, the idea that I would be boarding a plane for Europe seemed pretty surreal. After saying ciao to my parents at the departure gate in Boston, I was off for my first European adventure. I couldn't wait to experience all that Italian culture has to offer and to be reuinted with my best friend Heather, who had been living there on a foreign exchange program for the past eight months. I was early for my flight, but I quickly realized while waiting that I was trapped in a section of the airport thta didn't offer any food options or drinks. This had happened before when on my way to Costa Rica and I was disappointed to find that it had happened again.
