India; The Life of a Child

Taught to hate at such … More
India; The Life of a Child

Taught to hate at such young ages,
They go through life and its many stages.
Each raised to worry only for themself
They learn to steal from those who have wealth.
Babies go unloved; raised only to make money.
Taught to beg throughout the streets, they learn to be so cunning.
Some will be sold by the hour
As strangers pay to have this power.
Returning in the morning, they're sent back to the streets,
While they shoeshine to make money, their parents stay asleep.
Each fears the wrath when they return
If not enough that day was earned.
So full of life at this young age
They soon will learn to disengage.
Hurt and hate build up inside
But soon these feelings will collide.
Approaching yet another age
They act robotic by this stage.
The heart has numbed so deep below
Emotions felt, no longer flow.
These hearts that were so young of age
Have now grown up to be enslaved.
Repeating the life of those before
A head lays down on the cold, damp floor.
How much difference could it make -
How little effort it would take
To show them love at this young age
And maybe start a brand new page.
These kids who've learned only to cope
May suddenly be given hope.
I pray dear Lord to send them love,
The kind that comes from You above,
So maybe they will recognize
That through Your Son a new life lies.
India I'm called to be
So You can work and set them free.
Please don't let me be too still
But send me forth to do Your will.

25 Days Inside the Mind of Susan : Week 1 Day 1 : )

I'm sitting here waiting for 5:30a.m. to roll around. It's 4:15 right
now, and I'm BORED OUT OF MY MIND!!! Our plane from Chicago to New
Deli was LOOONG! We had to sit in the plane for 2 HOURS before we even
took off! Something was wrong with the oxygen on the plane, so we had
to wait till they found a part to fix it, THEN we had to wait till
they could bring it to the plane, THEN we had to wait for them to fix
it! We FINALLY took off! Now 2hrs is already a long time for an ADHD
person to sit, but add that to a 15hr flight and I'm ready to put up
the white flag and surrender! ;-)
There was a lot of turbulence during the flight, so I was afraid to
use the "little nuns room" in case the plane jolted while I was in
there.lol Luckily I was blessed with a big bladder and went all 17hrs
without bursting! : )When we finally landed in New Deli(Unfortunately
where we thought our original layover was to take place was no longer
on our itinerary.) I decided to use the bathroom in the airport. It
was SOOO disgusting! I think the airport bathrooms would have been
cleaner even if we had hit turbulence while I was in there!!! The
toilets at the airport were nothing more then a hole in the ground!
Well, after I made it through that little adventure, we got our
backpacks, exchanged our money over, and found the waiting area to sit
until a bus came to pick us up and transport us to another airport.
When the bus came and we stepped outside to get on, I about puked from
the smell of animal dung that filled our precious breathing space! The
buses had no A/C in them; only windows that slide open, and curtains
that hang from them. As the bus was driving us, I came to the
conclusion that Indians CAN'T drive! They drive ALL OVER the roads and
no one stays in their lane! Cars were coming right at us, others
squeezed between our bus and the curb, and EVERYONE honked at everyone!
Well, we survived the bus ride as we now prepared for the next "sit
and wait" session. It was about 11:00 p.m. when the bus dropped us off
at the airport. It's 5:20 a.m. and we are still waiting! There are
TONS of Buggy Buggies that are flying around us! They are all over the
floors and ceilings! They scurry between peoples feet trying to avoid
being squished. The air right now is filled with the smell of many who
I'm guessing have never heard of a thing called DEODORANT!
We should soon be called to board the plane, and I'm now faced with
the dreaded choice again...Which toilet do I use, the hole in the
ground here in the airport, or the unknown, never seen toilet on the
plane?!?!
