We woke up Monday morning in no real hurry. We had a few hours before check out. Around 8 am I decided to take a shower. I turned on the water and let it run for a few minutes, only cold water came out. My husband came in to see if I just didn't know how to work the faucett and sure enough he couldn't get the water to warm up. We tried to call down to the front desk, but the line was busy. We finally ended up using our cell phone to call down and find out there was something wrong with the water heater and it should be fixed in 45 minutes. We waited over an hour and tried again and the water was still cold. We called the front desk again and were told it would be 3 hours. I said we would have to check out before then. The front desk clerk says, "oh, okay." and hangs up. As though since we were checking out before then, we were no longer a problem.
We did take cold showers. I mean ice cold showers. My husband took the coffee maker that brewed 2 cups of coffee and started heating up water which we cooled with the cold water in the shower to help me wash my hair.
When we checked out, they asked how our stay was. "You mean aside from the ice cold showers we took this morning?" We asked. "Oh, right, sorry." She said. They were offering 1/2 off the rate to their guests, except we used hotel points to pay for our stay. They said they would credit back the points. We just needed to write Hilton Honors, which I did. As of the day I am writing this, my account has still not been credited. It has been just under 3 weeks. I am going to give them another week before I follow up again.
We headed for the cruise terminal on the shuttle. We boarded about 12 pm. The rooms were not ready, but they were serving lunch at the buffet. It was quite crowded. Now I know why they say you shouldn't be one of the first ones on board. There were many people there early, and not enough wait staff to bus the tables. We ended up bussing our own table so we could have a place to sit down and eat. The buffet was good with all kinds of dishes - chicken, beef, fish, hamburgers, salad bar, pasta and of course a dessert bar. After lunch was over, our cabin was ready and we headed there to unpack.
We had the early dinner, so we headed to the dining room instead of the deck as the ship set sail.
We called it an early evening.
