2 yrs to go !!!!
We are getting excited from now planning about our trip :) We still have about 2 yrs to go before we start but I read somewhere that people have planned for 5 years.
We are not yet sure about the budget but I think $100 per person per day should be a good estimate. I am opening this plan open so that you can take a look and comment on the proposed itineary.
If you have visited the cities mentioned, I will be happy to hear your experience and also the places I have mapped. We are planning to stay atleast a couple of days in each city to ensure we try to experience it's essence.

looks good. Your first day in Paris is way overscheduled though. We did an overall city sightseeing tour, with the Napoleon's Tomb, Eiffel tour (not going up) La Defense, and went up Monmartre (Sacre Coeur), and that was enough! Major museums - one a day, plus few other things in the afternoon, or wandering - shopping. A nice day was Notre Dame + latin quarter + Jardine Luxembourge + d'Orsay before close. Another great day was Versaile + Seine boat cruise, plus night life.
