Tips
Get your hotel to write in chinese the name and address of any location you want to visit for the a taxi driver. Also carry the hotel address for your return trip.
Not all places have an english speaking person, so for resteraunts check they have an english menu, or better still an english speaking employee (More than just hello, thankyou) in case you have a problem.

Bob we are flying From Xian to Shanghai. We are staying at the Hotel Royal Garden Xian because it is with our tour. 334 DOng De Jie Road Looks nice 3km form train station and 45km to airport.

Hi, it seems it's been really adventure tour. You traveled with all the notes you made without known the language. Nowadays you can find english menu in bigger or popular restuarants, and also can find someone who can help you with little english in tourist attractions. Before you go to your destination city, write down its name in Chinese so that the taxi driver will take you to your destination. www.silkroadtour.org
