We arrived to Caracas around 11:30am but did not leave the airport until 1 pm just waiting for one of our bags that came in another flight (Thank you American Airlines!).
We went down to the city of Caracas to eath in a popular "Carnes en vara" or something like that. It was a very crowed place where the food is cooked right next to your table (the experience include the smoke of the grills and it takes time to find a table). Then we check-in the hotel (Hotel Tampa) and took it easy for the rest of the day. The hotel offers open WI-FI, but it only works in the hall, we coudn't get signal in the room. In the middle of the night a car alarm in the parking lot next to the hotel went on every 10 min! We learned that Venezuelan pharmacies do not sell ear plugs!! (we kind of missed Walmart!).
During the afternoon I walked a little bit around Sabana Grande, and found the city extremely dirty, noisy and crowed. I guess it was because Christmas was around the corner, but I also remember that area of Caracas the same way (and very unsafe).
