Our Trip to Las Vegas was amazing!
We got a great rate at the Luxor thru the hotels website!
Christmas is a good time to go, the rates are so inexpensive, the only time it was expensive was New Years Eve!
Luxor Hotel in the past had just been a cool place to stay but then go elsewhere for entertainment!
Not anymore... They just opened a new ultra Lounge in the middle of it, which is beautiful, a new bar to chill as you walk in the front plus another new one in the lobby by the check in area... and they have LAX nightclub which is AMAZING, use your roomkey to get in free, and the Cathouse which is sexy & fun restaurant/nightclub, ...check out the website! Spa suites are great if your staying more than a few days, otherwise if your there for a short trip, you might not be in the room enough to use it and enjoy it but they are VERY NICE and roomy! Great food court & Starbucks in this hotel- I counted 3, so my fix for my Chai Latte was well taken care of! Luxor seriously has put money into the place and it shows! I just hope the rates remain reasonable as they have been for the last few years!
As always, bring good walking shoes to Vegas!
Our main highlights that stand out......
*Qua - Spa at Caesars, this place is to die for, get the one day pass , you don't need to get services just to enjoy the ammenities which once your using them, you quickly forget the outragious massages and other services exsist yet the services are amazing too!
The snow room and the roman ritual pools are just so relaxing. Mens and womens sides of the spa are the exact same. I talked my husband into going to the guys side for 2 hours and then we said we'd meet in the middle at the lobby of the spa after to see if we wanted to stay longer. We stayed 5 hours total! We both loved it, very relaxing & amazing escape, not your average spa, very fantasy & modern!
*Zumanity - Not a show for the kids! Totally sexy and sensational! Loved it! Not for squares or prudes!
*Rat Pack is Back Show - at the Greek Isles hotel.... ok, So much to say and I hope it comes out the right way......when we got to the Greek Isles hotel, we were like OMG, this place is a DUMP, but seriously overlook the hotel, (it's so bad mom & pop, the owner must not be putting any money into this place at all, it's just so bad, run down, small) we almost didnt stay..... BUT.....the show is amazingly seriously Fantastic, a tribute to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr & Joey Bishop... those inpersonators did a terrific job and seriously someone needs to take that show and give it a great little theature on the strip in a nice hotel, .....hey it's old Vegas and should be given glory but thi place doesnt do it justice and even the performers make jokes about the hotel ......the show was excellent ..........but blow up the Greek Isles hotel and build something new, long over due, its a HUGE dump but DO go for the show, the poor entertainers are probably stuck in some contract.
We are in our mid-20s and LOVED IT! So, if you appreciate old Vegas and the music, DO go for that show, close your eyes on the way in or don't expect glamour outside the showroom. Don't bother buying the dinner /show combo with your show tickets, huge rip off plus they seat you at the same table as others in an uncomfortable kind of way. Food was fair average, way overpriced, and don't dare ask for seconds on bread or expect your iced tea or sodas to come with your dinner & show tickets, you pay extra for that... Just go for the Show!
*Paris Hotel - little Crepe Food Stand - not sure of the name but its across from the overpriced mediocre buffet, the line might be long for this little fast food stand featuring crepes, dinner crepes, ham & cheese and several other varieties and dessert crepes but wait in line! If you want a great inexpensive taste of Paris, get a ham & swiss cheese crepe at this place! Bananas Foster dessert Crepe was great also!
*MGM Hotel CBS research center -Not only free fun, but you get paid! If you have an hour or so to kill its worth your time, plus its intresting, we watch a sitcom not yet on TV and rated it told what we liked or didnt about the show and were given prizes afterward such as coupons for free food and to get free merchandise in the MTV Nikelodeon CBS store after plus we were invited to be in a focus group which for 1 hour of our time we were paid $75.00 cash each person to rate Iphones, new HP TV & computer products, xbox360 plus new technology not released so it was like going to a Best Buy or Circuit City and playing with the new stuff not yet on the market or just released on the market , rate it and get cash to boot!
*Wynn Hotel - All I can say is if you haven't been just to walk thru the place and see the restaurants, waterfalls and clubs, go venture there at night and be nosey! It's an amazing hotel!

*Cafe Lago Buffet Caesars Palace - Fabulous buffet, my favorite one on the strip for the money! And Ive tried them all! It's a Bellagio quality buffet at a reasonable price!
I've found buffets in Vegas are a better value anyways compared to the 24/7 coffee shops, you will spend the same $$ for your 1 dish, 1 serving in the 24/7 coffee shops as you will for the buffet so might as well have your pick and go to the buffet!
Monorail as Transportation in Vegas- Two thumbs up! Yes, it's a long walk thru the casino to the monorail stations, always at the back of the hotels just like the eleavator to your room.... but buy the week pass or several use pass and plan your days to end up by monorail station to get to the next place, this will save you tons of money vs. taking cabs everywhere for those wanting to save money for the gaming or shopping! The Bus was an inexpensive option also but if there is traffic on Las Vegas Blvd., you will sit in the traffic also, keep that in mind!
Luxor Club LAX & Cathouse - WOW! Apparently this is the new in place to be and it shows! Place is amazing! Gives Luxor a whole new look and now known as the cool place to stay, teamed with the new CatHouse Longe Restaurant, wow! Luxor has stepped it up a few knotches! Company Steakhouse is new and amazing also!
Best Shopping- Yes,.... Caesars Forum & Planet Hollywoods Miracle Mile are amazing to look at but if you have decent malls back home, (I'm from Orlando, Florida and we have Juicy, Fendi, Louis & Gucci, Gap, Abercrombie and all the usual stores that were once novelty in most of our malls now too)......... go other places, these malls will give you the same stuff as back home, nothing is ever on sale.... so try the hotel boutique shops for unique finds! Madalay Place has unique stores. If your going shopping, go buy stuff you can't find back home!
