First Day @ Bangkok
We left Hong Kong for Thailand. We almost missed the flight. Many factors. We ended up splinting to the gate for the Cathay Pacific flight to Bankok. After 3 hours on the plane, we arrived in Bankok International Airport. Everyone has to get out and take a bus. It was very cloudy when we arrived.
After going through the custom, Andy was able to get us the Taxi/Van to the hotel. When we got pretty close to the hotel, taxi driver had hard time finding our hotel - Rambuttri House. He pulled over several times and finally asked his "friend" to direct us to the hotel. His friend was not helpful at all. He tried to take us to another hotel. So we insisted that we want to go the hotel we have booked. In hint-sight, I wish we have stay at the hotel that guy took us ;)
After some a few hours of confusion, we finally got to the Rambuttri House. It's a funny looking one and the receptionists were semi-helpful.
So we put our stuffs down and walked around to find a place to eat. We ended up eating at a restaurant where they were showing the movie "Beach" on the TVs.
After dinner, we walked around and got back to block where the hotel is located. We sat the outside of the cafe/pub across the steet. A few minutes later, it started to rain a little. By that time, I was pretty much beat. So I went back to the hotel. I think Phil left too. The other guys stayed a little @ the cafe/pub across the street.
I went up to my smelly room and watched the last episode of "Empress Wu" in Thai.
I also watched numerous clips about the Thai King His Royal Highness.
