Day 1 Beijing
Well even though I was so nervous I was sick to my stomach we got on the plane in first class seats 1a, 3a,4a not together but all windows which we almost prefered. It was a long flight and I was not able to sleep much as it was the middle of the day but I did watch 2 movies that I had not seen and the service was very nice. Verified some of the information that I wanted to with laungage flight attendants and saw my freind and roommate from training Lisa. She was working the flight and her husband was going along on the flight.
We arrived in PEK at about 2:40pm on Sat, Oct. 27, 2007. Customs went very quickly and we caught a cab right outside of the terminal to take us to our hotel. It costs us 85rmb. We are staying at the Century Towers in a 3 bedroom apartment for $93/night. We have 2 rooms with double beds and 1 room with a king size bed 2 full bathrooms and living/dining room and a small kitchen with appliances but no dishes or utensils. There is suppose to be wi-fi available but when I asked they said you have to get a modem fro 500rmb and pay 20rmb per day for it. Oh well I will sit by the window and catch an open signal. I am now finding all of the small things that I forgot to bring with me.
After I took a 20 minute nap and we all unpacked we caught a cab over to the Holiday Inn Lido area where I dropped of my clothes for alterations and then we went to Home Away from Home for dinner. Had the Lemon Chicken, garlic spinach and crispy potatos. Yum yum. Stopped at the convience store for some banana bread for the middle of the night munchies and headed back to the hotel as we were exhausted.
