03/08/2008 Day 1 - Driving
We left Central IL at 7am and traveled all day. The drive was uneventful really. We encountered snow in Kentucky which in some places the interstate was down to one lane but the traffic wasn't that bad. We left the GA visitors center in North GA around 4pm to pick up information on the GA Aquarium and places to stay in downtown Atlanta for our trip back. The entire state of GA (North to South) has road construction but again no trouble there. I had brought cold cuts, chips and such for our trip so we ate lunch on the move. We were 3 hours away from Orlando and decided to just get there. We had the 1 hour time change from IL to FL then we had to add in the time change of Daylight Savings Time, so we lost 2 hours. We stayed at the Howard Johnson in Leesburg, FL and arrived about 2am (in actuality it was only midnight).

I enjoyed reading your journal, although i live in Orlando, and don't care much for theme park and my kids are teenage boys 16, 17, and 19. You are very organized and that really helps when planning a vacation or anything for that matter. Glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your trip. I also plan on checking out that Spanish resturant in Kissimmee. My husband planned a last minute vacation (Cause we needed on) We just plan on staying a few days at the Sharaton Vistana Villages, and getting some much needed rest and relaxation, and some quality alone time. We check in today.

In a way they are the same. We didn't spend much time at Universal (we completed that park in about 1/2 a day), they do not have a parade and the park isn't as big.

I'm just looking for a reasonable prices on hotels in disney world flights and car rental or is cheaper to take hotel transportaion to disney? I'm going to california to disney for nine days with my family. are there any rental homes for the resort or any where near there

Our plans are made! Now we just have to wait. . . . .I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not the type to get worked up over things so I'm going with the flow. I have faith it will all work out great! I'll let you know.
