Hello- I think it is so great how you are planning your trip so far in advance. I can tell you are very excited. Well, I live in the San Francisco Area and your days in SF look good. I can't think of anything else you might want to do since I don't know you BUT you have hit the main tourist spots. I am also very familiar with Las Vegas. I am there several times a year and I love that city. The only thing I can say about your plans in Vegas is you might not have planned enough days there. It is huge and a lot to see. Alot of fun! Are you going to be 21 while you are there? If not than that leaves out any partying at any of the cool bars but you need to see Paris and the Eifel Tower. You can go to the top. You will see what I mean when you get there. Just a suggestion about an additional day there. Vegas isn't for everyone and if you are not 21 that leaves out a lot.
Hi Sandi - thanks for the ideas - I think we may add another day in Vegas. We are travelling with 2 teenagers so we won't be doing the partying etc. (but then, we are not 21 anymore either :) Cheers, Mandy
We visited Arches, Canyon Lands and Moab last summer. Very hot at that time, be sure to drink lots of water. I would allow most of a day at each park. There is much to see and it is SO beautiful. As for San Fran and some of your Western US visits, take a look at my Western US trip. We leave June 10 this year and will be adding journal comments and pix as we go along.
Also should have mentioned that we stayed at Ruby's Inn in Bryce Canyon it was very nice but try some of the local places for dinner. Ruby's food is just OK. Ask for recommendations from the locals, we ate at a place whose name I can't remember not far from Ruby's that had delicious home made pie. We also took a helicopter ride over the canyon that was thrilling.
Hi Kornmaiden, Thanks for your tips. Your trip looks great and we'd love to see some of the places you are going to - unfortunately time doesn't permit (and travelling with 2 teenage boys means there is only so much scenery they can handle without mixing it with an adreneline rush). I look forward to reading about your trip.
Cheers, Mandy
