The race course is ~250-300 miles in length. The course will wind its way through the spectacular canyon country near Moab. Teams will be treated to arches and spires as the Colorado river meanders through the desert landscape. At the same time athletes will encounter a completely opposite terrain as they make their way through the Manti La Sal mountains reaching an elevations of 12,000 feet. In October any weather conditions are possible, from extreme heat in the canyons to snow and freezing in the mountains.

Teams will paddle in flat-water and whitewater conditions, strainers, rocks, sand bars and other hazards will be encountered.

The mountain biking sections will take place on jeep roads and trails.

Teams will also spend a good amount of time on their feet throughout the race. Navigation will be critical in selecting the best route.

The ropes section of the event will consist of a spectacular Rappel and will be the highlight for many teams.

Caleb, don't listen to that funny looking guy with the toque. I mean after all, it's just the first day of fall! And he's been wearing that toque for awhile now.

All night driving sounds like being in training to me. Hope you get some good sleep.. but you're probably too revved for that. Stay safe. Hi to John.

John Diane and I are having a great time, especially after a full nights sleep. We are planning on scouting the Arch National Park and possibly Canyonlands. Looking forward to enjoying the beautiful Utah weather.

Great photos! Can't believe the photo of the Hummers! Sounds like you are having a great time.
One question: Is this like the Tour de France where you get to wear yellow jerseys when you win?
