Drive down Saturday to College Station, Texas. Spend Sunday hanging out with my sister. Early Monday, drive to Galveston. Spend Monday and Tuesday seeing the sights, then head back to College Station. Head home Wednesday.
Day 1
So Ready for a Vacation
I haven't had a vacation in so long, I can't actually remember what it feels like to be relaxed. I think it was over a year ago when I went to Chicago with my sister and brother-in-law and his sister and mom. I loved going to Chicago...but I will never vacation with my sister and her husband EVER AGAIN!! I love them both, but we are of different personalities. They wanted to cram as many tourist attractions into three days as possible, while I wanted to relax and see Chicago as a native sees it. I wanted to hang out at the Chicago Museum of Art--for an entire day if I felt like it. I wanted to go to the beach or check out a jazz club. Okay, I'm babbling. I'm just really excited to have a relaxing vacation that doesn't involve trapsing from tourist trap to tourist trap. :)

I will be driving down to visit my sister in College Station, Texas, and decided to extend my vacation and check out Galveston. I've never been and was wondering if there is ONE unmissable attraction that you would recommend I check out. I will only have two days, and I'm not big on tourist attractions. Should I just stick to the beach? Thanks for any advice.

the ferry rides are free -- you can go as many times as you like, with or without your vehicle; bring a camera as you'll be sure to see lots of dolphins ...
