Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Friday, August 31st, 2007, I:  Danièle Mangonès a.k.a. Vanyan Nègès: am finally returning home for an exciting and meaningful trip to Ayiti - - - - Haiti "la perle des antilles"! 

The extraordinary and exciting part of this journey has to do with the fact that the Universe is blessed to have an old soul - a beautiful and wonderful sister and an amazing artist and mother: the Diva Joan Renée Cartwright - - - - together with the highly spiritual and wonderful brother and international healer and Yoruba high priest: Nana Kwaku - - - - accompanying little old me:  Dane, Danilou, Dannie, Danièle - - - - Vanyan Nègès to:  Ayiti cheri!!!!

Now, I can see the worry look on some of your faces? Why would anyone want to go to do anything in Port-au-Prince, Haiti right now!  That place is nasty, negative, dirty!  HOLD IT..............HOLD IT THERE.................ARE WE TALKING ABOUT MY....MY....MY....MY COUNTRY?  I DON'T THINK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MY MF COUNTRY:  are you, now?  I didn't think so!

I am here to tell all of you here that care to listen, that Ayiti cheri, Haiti "la perle des antilles", is a gorgeous place.  It is a country created by the Great Master himself.  If you want to know what beauty is:  COME ON DOWN TO AYITI CHERI.....If you want to experience an amazingly beautiful, creative and spiritual people:  COME AND SHARE OUR HAITIAN HOSPITALITY!!!!  If you want to have an outer body experience and reach spiritual peaks you had never thought possible?  COME....COME....COME....COME TO Port-au-Prince, Haiti...........................next stop 'Simonette' facing 'Ibo Beach' where nature is kind while being enhanced by century old mango trees which greet you as you arrive and the Red Witch sails you to the island of 'la Gonave' where your palate is tingled with conch grilled on the beach with a squeeze of lemon juice and 'piman zwazo' (bird pepper) - - -  - the fisherman and the amazingly beautiful 'lasirèns' (the murmaid loas/spirits) invite you to their humble abode for an exquisite taste of coconut water empregnated with 'nan nan' (coconut meat), while you are brought fresh water in a porceleine 17th century 'kivèt' containing a few drops of our 'vetivè' (essential oil by steam distillatin from the roots and rootlets - washed, chopped, dried and soaked.  (A resinoid is also produced by solvent extraction for perfumery work) latin name for those who want to further research this miracle root from Haiti "vetiveria zizanioides"!

Next memorable stop is a degustation at my sister's home:  the great 'Marithou' <Marie-Thérèse Latortue-Dupoux>   ---- We go way back, this sister and me.  We are connected at the hip.  We believe in sisterhood and solidarity.  We love one another and would do anything for each other's wellbeing and wellness!  Marithou and her loving husband Rolando 'Roland Dupoux/Radio/Metropole/photographer  /artist/comedian - - - - will be our hosts ☻☻☻☻ meeting of the minds/between musicians/visual artists/poets/spiritual leaders ▬☻☻☻
