Day 1 Sat November 17th

We were really tried fom driving 10 hours with 2 kids. By he time we got into Gatlinburg it was checkin time. We walkld around Gatlinburg and at @ Blaine's. The food was ok. Unfortunaly I didnt get my din ner until everyone was done with theis. Somehow they forgot my order and we took it to go. Naturally they did not charge us but it was still kind of dissapointing since it was our first dinner there. Oh, and allI ordered was a Hamburger and fries!! HAAA

Afterwards we went to Ripley's Haunted Adventure. It was scary, but I love scary. It was not the most haunting I have ever been to, but it was fun, netherless.

We went to our hotel and my husband took the kids to play at the Arcade in the hotel. The rooms were nice. The hotel room was updated. We stayed i the towers building of the Garden Plaza (thats the new name of the Holiday Inn) Everything was clean and the beds were freshly made. I am pretty careful of the beds I lseep on in hotels and this was fine. No bugs, mold, smells in the room at all. The lobbys could use some updating and our icemaker on our floor was not working.

It didhave a large arcade the kids loved, great for them to hang out at in the evnings with my husband. The hotel did have a small workout room and 2 indoor pools, including hot tubs.

My wife and I were just there a month ago-what was sad was the number of people in Gatlinburg that work in the little ticket booths that verbally accost you as you walk by. "Where are you from?" is translated to "let me sell you something you don't want!" Others were telling us about how we could earn $100 and a free breakfast.(I smell time shares, not breakfast)Went to Cherokee, NC and saw a once proud people selling souvenirs. (Avoid the casino, it's a black hole for money better spent where you may have a chance at enjoying yourself)The national park is breathtaking, and Cades Cove is one of my favorite tours. May I suggest the strawberry preserves sold in the park stores-We should have bought more than one jar! The aquarium is a must-they have a first rate exhibit where sharks swim over your head as you walk through a tunnel. Yes, it is designed in that area to separate you from your money, but you can have a great time.
