First goal: Save money
Spending the day figuring out my bills and debt reminded me that the only way we'll be able to make this trip is if we save enough money. Looking back on my trip in March, I was able to fly out and travel alone for 10 days on about $2500. Its possible that we'll able to make it on less without having to pay for a fixer OR we'll have to spend more if we rely on tourist guides and such.
How I will be able to save that much money is beyond me right now. But I have faith that we will somehow get there. Hopefully by April I will have my outstanding debts taken care of and I will have a reasonable budget where I can save some money. Equador shouldn't be as expensive -- if we stay with friends and live cheap while we're there. I think Aaron mostly wants to buggie hunt anyway and that doesn't cost anything. Again, we will figure it out.
We want to do a few off the beaten path stuff. He is a huge fan of Kung-Fu, let's face, we both are. And we love Chinese food (real Chinese food).
So far, it looks like this may be a short trip (less than 2 weeks) so I want to make sure we do the best stuff between Beijing and Shanghai.
Advice and suggestions very welcome! Thank you.
