Toronto

Got in after an 8 hour drive. The drive was lovely until we hit the Qew (Hwy 405) outside of Toronto. Traffic is ugly and why not?  So much going on this weekend. Between the Toronto Film Festival ( to which every celeb  was present), the Virgin Mobil Music Fest and a jazz fest, this was THE place to be last and this week.

Day 1 was orientation and a nice quiet dinner near our hotel on Victoria Park Avenue off of 401W called Joe Maggiano's. The food was surprisingly good for a neighborhood restaurant. I had a beercan chicken, smashed potatoes and roast veggies with a sun dried tomato mayo. What is interesting about Canadian food versus American is that Canadians do not take liberties with salt or pepper.  This is not to say they don't season food. However, they leave the salting completely up to the diner. Fortunately, food consistently arrived hot and could take the season after the fact.
