Coronado, California

Out of our whole group, mine was the only flight to arrive on time.  I got in to the hotel, but couldn't check in, so I headed over to the Coronado Brewing Company for lunch. Had a hawaiian calzone - not too bad, but a bit too saucy.

After lunch, I walked down to the Ferry Landing, about 3 blocks from the hotel. It was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon, and I got some good pictures of the bay and Downtown.

The rest of my group arrived shortly, so we headed off to the Zoo, which was wonderful. We rode the bus tour around first, then took the Skyfari, and then jumped on and off the Express buses. I think my favorite was the giraffes, although the elephants came in close second. A baby female giraffe had just been born, so we got to see her.

One of our group fell and sliced open her thumb, so we spent the night at the UCSD Emergency Room - she's fine, after 8 stitches!
