Last night we rolled into Bakersfield and got checked into the Best Western by 7:30.
The first thing we did was head to the Jack In The Box across the street and get some dinner before settling in at the room. I remembered I wanted to dye my roots before I got my highlights on Sunday but was worried about the result since I was sweating like a pig due to the clunking air conditioning that was slow to work. In the end it turned out okay but that took most of the night.
The room was nice and had a fridge and a microwave. Much better then I expected but the "high speed Internet" was slower than dial up. But I guess I can't complain since it was free.
This morning we woke up, packed, showered and left the hotel by nine this morning. Stopped once for gas and a croissant before powering it out to Jean where we stopped again for gas. The traffic was pretty bad for some spots but overall we made really good time.
Got into to Vegas, checked into the Golden Nugget and were in our room by 2:30. I called my mom and woke her up(she'd been out on the slots until five this morning) to find out what her status was. She said she needed to wake up and eat. I told her we had to recover from the drive and we'd call her in a bit.
We unpacked and laid around watching TV for the rest of the afternoon. Mom called at some point saying she needed to go eat, I advised her to go ahead and get something from the Cafe and we'd meet up with her later.
Finally met up with her around seven at the Golden Nugget penny slots. Mom and I stationed ourselves two machines side by side and stayed there for about two hours with me running out once to videotape the Fremont St Experience. Rob joined us for a spell and then the length of the day hit us so we bid my mom goodnight and boogied over to the Four Queens to grab some grub.
We ordered at the Chicago Brewpub(10 inch white pizza, Potato Skins, Hot Wings and a Philly Cheese steak Sandwich with fries) and then played 50 hand video poker while we waited.
Now here we are back in the room with lots of food and looking to make it an early night. My hair appt at the salon here at the Golden Nugget is fairly early so it's better to get a good nights sleep I think.
Tomorrow we get our hair done and then hang with my mom the rest of the night.
The real action will start on Monday.
Tonight Rob said he would go see Phantom of the Opera with me at the Venetian and I am super excited. We just have to pick the night and then see if we can get the half price tickets from the Four Queens booth. I can't wait!!! I'll add it to the schedule when I know the night. Yay!!
it is a nice trip.what a wanderful trip ,i hope i was there with u people,in other to enjoy and also to see to my self the beautiful things over there.
