Day One - Travel Day
Day one was entirely a travel day. We traveled from Kansas City to Seattle via Salt Lake City. During an extended layover, we had some great entertainment as a very boisterous guy took out his four (yes four) puppies and let them run amuck in the terminal. Eventually, they were all corralled and we went on to Seattle.
After arriving in Seattle, we headed off to gather our stuff and get the rental car. We knew we would be driving 500+ miles on the trip, so we splurged and got a Cadillac through Priceline. This was probably our best investment and It was great to ride in luxury for the entire trip!
We wanted to get out of the city before hitting the sack, so we did the hour drive to Port Orchard and stayed the night at the Port Orchard Holiday Inn Express. In the morning we headed out for Port Angeles and the Olympic National Forest.
