My night in Hell or Spending the night on US 17

So Albert and I left for the beach Tuesday around 11.  We had a nice ride, I had my "quiet time" (Albert's idea), we had good conversations about work, life, and stupid (that dude had a mullet at the last stop) stuff.  And we totally rocked out to 80s jams.

I knew something was up when our original hotel we had reservations in didn't come up on the GPS (danger danger).  Yeah, so we find the hotel (think shady, people get killed for being the only patrons, pay by the hour nasty) and pull up.  I hesitantly walk into the check in desk which is adjacent to the breakfast nook/manager's room (not kidding).  The people at the front desk were smoking and laughing and not expecting a guest (second clue).  In fact, when I said I had a reservation, a look of fear and laughter spread throughout the room.  I really was scared.  Anyway, I had to check in or we would have lost 65 bucks.  So I asked if I could stay one night and figure something out which was good since none of the ladies could log onto a computer or figure out my internet rate.

Then I asked about wireless internet....why did I do that!  The wireless internet throughout the hotel was only in the breakfast nook/manager's room.  So Albert and I walked up to our room which was just a nasty as I thought it would be, a cigarette burn in one of the beds (again not kidding) and a hole through the sheets in the other.  The towels smelled and had stains on them. And the room had not its air conditioner run in a long time and when I called to complain, I was on the verge of tears.

So we put our stuff down in meth land and went to the beach.  Then we saw an oasis in the desert!  A real Holiday Inn on the beach!!  Don't laugh, going from meth land to a decent three star rating is amazing.  I made reservations for tonight and tomorrow and bolted out of meth land this morning.

To top it off, Albert had to pay a bill last night so we had to try to rig the internet the old fashioned way (dial up), drive an internet cafe (which on principal alone, Albert refused to pay), and finally hack into our new hotel's internet so I didn't get to sleep until 11pm.  I couldn't sleep last night due to being scared out of my mind and the drugs (which also leaves me with a small appetite).

The beach at Myrtle is beautiful and the water is warm.  Right now, I'm chillling in a beautiful room relaxing from my 18 hours of torture.  Albert and I decided that NOVA needs a Sonic - so much money to be made.  We have been twice since we've been here.  I would have illustrated with pictures but I brought the wrong cord so you'll have to wait until I get back.  The people at the good hotel have totally nice and accomdating to us, letting us use the internet last night, parking passes this morning and holding our luggage this morning while went to Myrtle.

I have definitely learned a lesson, Rodeway Inns = hourly rates.  When in Myrtle - stay on the beach.
Hopefully, this restart will be better.
