Anyone that stumbles upon my trip, please let me explain something right off the bat. My friend and I chose to not go the "ordinary" Jamaican vacation. We chose to stay in city vs. a resort, we ate and drank in the "local" bars, not the trendy tourist hangouts and "drove" through most of the country ourselves. We wanted to see the real country, talk to the real locals. Staying at any of the plush resorts in our opinion would give us an askew version of Jamaica.
This trip is not for everyone. There were times during our trip were our safety was in jeopardy. Looking back, those are the experiences we wanted. If we wanted fun in the sun, we could've gone to Hawaii and just relaxed. Some times we were con'ed, and a few times things worked in our favor.
We initially came to Jamaica for the Red Stripe Reggae SumFest in Montego Bay. But branched out whenever we could. Hope you enjoy the notes, and if you have any questions, just email me!!!
