Italy Summer Trip
Day 1
19 days left !!
I finally booked a hotel in Rome today. We chose the "Starhotels Metropole" which is located near to the Termini Station (2-3 minutes walking). It's a 4* hotel in the center of Rome, recently renovated, the guest room is very pretty and well furnished, well everything seems perfect except for the rates. Normally, a double room costs 130 euros and a triple room costs 170 euros !!! It's definitely over my budget :(
Fortunately, I found a good deal from hotels.com, and I only pay 120 euros a night for triple room (breakfast included). I was soooo happy, because it's already hard to find a triple room for that rate, and it's even harder to find a 4* star hotel for less than 200 euros. I booked it for 4 nights, so I totally pay 480 euros for our stay in Rome.
Since it's only 19 days left from our (my mom, my lil brother and I) departure to rome, I still got a lof things to do :
1. Buy train tickets Rome-Naples from trenitalia.com
2. Buy ferry ticket from Naples-Capri
3. Packing clothes
4. Read the lonely planet travel guide book
That's all for today, aaaahhhh can't wait to go to Italy.

I can't wait to read about your trip to Capri. I am planning a day trip from Rome to Capri in October and can use some tips! Sounds like you had a good time so far - I can't wait to get there myself!

My wife and I have been to Italy 5 times and it is my favourite country. It's got it all, weather, history, natural beauty, food, wine, beautiful people etc. Just a note though when you want to go to Capri and visit the Blue Grotto, make sure A. that the ferry is stopping to allow you to get on the smaller boats to actually go into the grotto and B. that the tides are not so high that you cannot go into the grotto at that time. Make sure while there that you visit Revello, the most beautiful town on the Amalfi Coast and for that matter, anywhere in the world.
