Bus Ride - KL to Kuala Besut
Took the Mutiara bus from Putra Bus Station in KL at 9.00 PM, and arrived in Kuala Besut, Terengganu at 5.30 AM. The seat was surprisingly comfortable, and I could sleep peacefully, other than the occassional sharp turn the bus took. Mid-way, the bus stopped at it's rest area somewhere in Gua Musang. I stepped out and looked up to the sky. You could see the stars so clearly, despite the cloudy weather. Nothing else to do at the rest stop other than have a cup of tea or coffee and stretch a bit.
The bus reached Kuala Besut very early in the morning. There were already boat operators waiting to offer their services to take passengers to Perhentian Island. I followed a lady called Kak Ani, she operates a travel agency called Kuala Besut Tour and Travel (i think). It's a 1-2 minute walk from the bus stop to her office, which is right in front of the Kuala Besut Jetty.
The bus ticket costs RM30.80 one way.
