Weekend on the Bayou

Alright! We finally got on the road at about 11am (don't ask!).  Our goal that day was to get to Pensacola.  We drove pretty much straight thru and got there at about 5pm.  We played trivia most of the drive, and....well....of course I won!  We also took some time to play "dueling harmonicas" a game with no real rules, and in our case not much in the way of decipherable song either.

We found Sadie's apartment without problem, and relaxed for a little bit before leaving for dinner.  She drove us down to the beach where there was a house she had wanted to show me. A cool little beach bungalow...with a UFO on the sundeck.

we took in the sites and and found a great parking spot down by the boardwalk.  The Airshow was the next day, and apparantly it is a huge event in Pensacola. There was all kinds of stuff going on that night. Larry bought us a round of frozen drinks and we chatted with a slight case of brainfreeze while we waited for our table at Flounder's.  After we had eaten, we decided we would check out "Appetite for Destruction" which is a G n' R cover band.  The show was free, but, it never happened.  Right after the soundchecks the sky started throwing rude amounts of water into a partially covered beachclub. The band was soaked. Their gear was soaked. And Larry got soaked trying to help.  So we had a few more beers, did some peoplewatching (near the mysterious "backroom" ), and headed home.
