Singapore is one of the best place to go on vacation. Wether it's a family trip or backpacking. It has a great theater called Esplanade, an entertaining island called Sentosa, and more places to visit. From shopping to eating to sightseeing, and lots of entertainment you'll get in Singapore.

Jakarta - Singapore
Jakarta - Batam
We departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 06.45. As we arrived in Batam, took our luggages, and bought three return tickets for Penguin ferry (Batam-Singapore-Batam). Penguin ferry is the best ferry than the others. It costs S$14 for each return ticket.
The Batam Center Harbour must be reached by taxi (Rp. 70.000) from the airport.
Batam - Singapore
The ferry has two decks, the air-con deck and the upper deck. It took almost 2 hours to reach Front Harbour, Singapore.
Orchard Road
We went to our apartment in Lucky Plaza, Orchard road, by MRT (mass rapid transit). If you want to book a room in Lucky Plaza, the phone number: +6567361306. Fl. 22 or 23. But there are lots of room to stay in. The room is very nice, and beautiful view to the Orchard Rd. buildings. Room costs around S$60-90 per-night.
First we had to buy the ticket to the Orchard, took a train to Punggol, then transit in Dauby Ghaut interchange, then took a train to Jurong East, and got off on Orchard MRT station.
At night, we walked all night long on Orchard Road. It's a place for those who want shopping shopping and shopping.
There are Tang Plaza, Lucky Plaza, Takashimaya, Wisma Atria and lots more to go. If you're lost, you can go to the Singapore Visitor Center too. There you can find lots of brochures, and you can ask the staff about where you want to go... for FREE!!! They are very nice, too.

I would choose in August. August 9th is Singapore's independence day, and August 31st is Malaysian Independence day, so the countries would have a lot of attraction and shopping discounts.
