Durango Mountain Resort - Ski Purgatory

We visited Durango on a short 3-day schedule for our anniversarry. There is plenty more to do that what is listed so plan longer if possible. Great for the whole family.

This a half-day trip with spectacular views of the San Juan mountain range. Take the sighseeing ride up the chair lift for $3 and hike to the top. The sled ride is fun for all.

Durango was this years destination. A short 4 day trip to spend in the beatiful San Juan mountains.

The Narrow Gauge railroad trip is a MUST when touring this part of the state. My only suggestion is to do the train ONE WAY. You can take a tour bus from Durango to Silverton and then ride the train back down. The train ride gets a little old when you do it both ways, and it is easier on the kids.
