We're heading to Vegas! Neither of us had flown before so we were both a little nervous. We started the day early, with a long drive to Dallas. Navigating through Love Field was a breeze. Southwest recommended arriving 2 hours in advance but security took only a few minutes. We had plenty of time to find our gate and grab some lunch. I was pretty impressed with the airline. I think their "no line" boarding process was fantastic! Unfortunately, the fight was incredibly turbulent. A mid-flight stop in Odessa made the experience even more unpleasant. As we approached Vegas the pilot made a stomach dropping turn over the strip. The view was amazing but not worth the nausea. Next time we'll book a nonstop fight on a larger plane.

We experienced sensory overload the moment we stepped off the plain. McCarran was buzzing with activity. Slots were ringing, people were racing by, and we were completely lost. The signs seemed to walk us in circles. With the help of a friendly airport employee we finally made it to baggage claim.
We choose to stay at MGM grand for several reasons including airport check in! I also recommend their airport shuttle service. You can purchase a round trip ticket at check in. It was comforting knowing that I'd have a ride back to the airport should anything happen (like returning home penniless). And we didn't have to worry about the rout.
