BEWARE OF BUG BITES. Overall the towns on the cape are quaint. It is nice to get away from the city. However, the bug bites ruined my trip. If you have sweet blood, you may want to go elsewhere during the summer. I got 11 itchy bug bites in 5 days. Hubby got 4 and luckily my son didn't get any.

Day 3

Hubby played the front 9 holes of the Ocean Edge golf course ($85 for 9 holes with cart) (back 9 are still being redesigned). He said the front 9 is nice, but narrow and tricky. Son and I went to the beach again. The resort offers beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for guests.

We had a late breakfast at the Ocean edge resort Ocean Grille. It was $18 a person for the buffet, my 4 yr old ate for free. Omlettes were good as well as all the other offerings (fruit, cereals, muffins, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes).
OJ was freshly squeezed. Service was very good.

Went to play mini-golf at Cape Escape in Orleans. It was nice enough and not too busy when we went.

We had dinner at 28 Atlantic at the Wequassett Inn in Harwich. The food was superb. Of course you pay for what you get...meal came out to $200 for 2 adults one child. they have a prixe fix menu for $45 a person. We ordered a la carte off the regular menu. I had the Toybox heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella, tempura asparagus and balsamic....this appetizer was AMAZING. I could have eaten a double portion as a meal. Hubby ordered a scallop appetizer. The scallops were cooked perfectly and tasted great. They offered a generous portion fruit cup for my son. The amuse was a watermelon soup with honeydew and asian pear.
I ordered the butter poached lobster with corn pudding, potato and asparagus. It could have used a little more salt but overall it was good. Hubby ordered a veal dish with crabcakes...this too was tasty.
My son had a cheeseburger with fries. Service was exceptional. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to splurge on a meal.
