Best 3 and a half days at an amusement park ever (including Orlando).
Friday - Left Northern Virginia after work around 4:00pm. Had our 3 year old and his 5 year old cousin. the trip took about 2 hrs and 15 minutes. We stayed at the Comfort Inn at Lingelstown (about 7 miles from Hershey Park). We checked into the hotel about 7pm and went to Hershey Park that evening to get our season passes. The offices were closed when we got to the park around 8:30pm but we were allowed to go in to the park for the remainder of the night.
Saturday - The next day we went to Hershey Park to pick up our passes. We took a tour of Chocolate World (free) which was cool to see how chocolate was made. We then did some of the rides (Storm Runner, Sidewinder and great Bear) and also took the kids to check out ZooAmerica in the park. That afternoon, we stayed at the Boardwalk water park (which was the first day it was opened). It wsa a little cold and they kept shutting down some of the rides because of frequent thunder storms.
Sunday - The next day we took a tour of the town of Hershey and the Chocolate Factory which was cool to learn how it all started and had two good tour guides. We did some more rides and also did the Monorail which took you for a trip around the park where you could look down and see all that was going on. The cool thing about Hershey Park that we liked was that the rides (both adults and kids rides) were close to each other so I could be in line for a ride while my wife had the kids on a kid ride right next to it.
Monday - (Memorial Day) we visited the Indian Echo Caverns which were like 4 miles away. Came back to the park to complete some of the rides that we hadn't been able to do. The fun part is that i didn't have to stand in hardly any lines for the cool rides.
Drove back home that afternoon. What a blast it was! Going back again in July!
