I'm so excited about our trip to New York! There will be a total of 10 of us making the trip, a mother-daughter vacation. We're looking forward to lots of sight seeing and shopping. We'll be staying at the Grand Hyatt, which is apparently attached to Grand Central Station. This will be my first trip to NYC, so I'm trying to study up now in hopes of seeing and doing as much as possible without getting lost! I'm open to NYC travel tips if anyone has them!
I would locate all of your destinations on google map so you can cluster your activities. For instance, do the AMNH and Central Park in the same day since they are both uptown or do the Statue of Liberty, chinatown, and Katz's Deli in the same day since they are all located more downtown.
For Broadway shows go see The COlor Purple, Lion King, or Wicked. Those are all really good, most of the shows on Broadway are good. For restaurants go to Ruby Fooo's in Time Square on Broadway for Pan-Asian it's a combination of chinese, thai and japanese. Since you have a group of 10 do Carmine's also which is Italian also in Times Square, it's family style and they have large portions. They are not the best in NYC but it would give you all a chance to taste a variety of stuff for a decent price. If in Chinatown go to the Golden Unicorn or Woo Hop to eat. Golden Unicorn has very good dim sum at lunch time. There are lots of places to go and things to see in NYC. Hit up the musuems, the garment district, South Street Seaport, UN, the list goes on.
