New Journal Entry
The first day was really neat. We took the ferry over. It was a little less than two hours and was only windy where we sat in the back side of the boat. The front was hardly windy at all and had a somewhat better view. Once we got there our journey began. In the first two minutes on the island we got lost because of all of the one way streets. Finally making it to the house we unpacked and walked into town for some dinner. The rest of the days we walked around town, shopped, fished in the harbour (but didnt catch anything cuz it was the harbour), biked, played and sun bathed at the beach, visited the light houses, and ate. It seems like all we did was eat in our spare time. We found this FANTASTIC place to get seafood near the edge of town. Sail's is located east past all of the warf's and is on the end of the road right next to the harbour. When I was there, there was construction going on next to it. They offer small to huge lobsters going up to about 6 pounds! I got to hold one and was scared i would drop it on the floor because of its power to move and crawl away. There were dozens of them. One person in our group ordered a two pounder and one got a six pounder. The six pound lobster actually tasted better than the two pounder. We obviously didnt finish it so the next night we had a lobster salad. Arno's at 41 Main Street was very good and had a great lobster quasadilla. While i was on the island i got addicted to Nantuket Nectars from Juice Guys, reading under the lid and collecting the caps. The Juice Bar, also owned by the Juice Guys, had pretty good ice cream. I got peppermint stick which was absolutly the best ever and not a very known flavor! I also tried the green monster which is mint chocolate chip with cookie dough chunks. It wasnt great because it didnt have a strong mint flavor and the cookie dough chunks were a great big size but again not enough flavor. I cant wait to go back!
