This was the first time we visited the de Young Museum. The museum is part of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and it is located inside the Golden Gate Park. We purposely went to de Young for the Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion exhibition because this weekend was the last days of the exhibition. This exhibition was organized by V&A, London and it has traveled around the world since 2004. Most of the pieces were seen on the runway in London and Paris and some were from her private collection. Because of the dim lighting in the exhibition hall, we weren't able to snap any pictures.
We were very pressed for time that day and so we only hurried through the museum. We first went up to the Observation Deck on the 9th floor of the Tower. The view from the height was incredible.
Left: Scary-looking fist with eye balls!!
Right: Wood chips flowing in the air?
By the way, the food from the de Young Cafe was pretty good!
