Florida Keys Family Vacation

Our whole family went to the Keys. My husband, daughter, son, daughter-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, daughter's boyfriend, Patch (a 7 month old Shih Tzu) and me all went on the trip. We had a blast! It was the first time we had all gone somewhere together in years.

All in the family
Our whole family went to the Keys. My husband, daughter, son, daughter-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, daughter's boyfriend, Patch (a 7 month old Shih Tzu) and I all went on the trip. We had a blast! It was the first time we had all gone somewhere together in years.
Marathon, Florida Rental House
I would love to move to the Keys someday. It is so relaxed and peaceful. The house we rented was nice, a little on the older side and in need of sprucing up on the inside. However, it did have a great pool and hot tub. We took our boat and the dock was convenient. We got up early most mornings just so we could watch the sunrise from the dock. It was amazing and so peaceful.
Dry Tortugas National Park
This was a wonderful trip. We took the Yankee Freedom II "Fast Cat" out from Key
West. The trip took 2 1/2 hours to get to Garden Key, but it was beautiful and well worth it. The water was the most amazing blue I have ever seen. We snorkled, swam, had lunch on the boat, and climbed to the top of the fort. We snorkled out over the coral heads which were about 200 yards out from the fort. It was amazing!!!!! The coral heads were huge! There were lots of fish and coral and the water was crystal clear. We stayed at the fort about 4 hours...I could have stayed much longer. I will definately take the trip again when I go back to the Keys!
Key West
Key West is definately a unique place to visit. You can see all sort of interesting characters there, including chickens everywhere. It was extremely hot the day we went, but I still enjoyed it. We took the Conch Train Tour. It was very interesting but hot! We stopped and had a cool beverage at the Hog's Breath Saloon. It even had chickens running around inside. We went to the Key West Aquarium....it was sweltering inside....no airconditioning!!! We ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Cafe....we were disappointed he wasn't there. Lastly we went to Mallory Square to watch the Sunset Celebration. Well....you can't really see the sunset over the water there because of the island that is just off the square. There were lots of performers. Some were interesting...most were just annoying.

iWent Dere just recently is beautiful.iWAnted to stay dere but ihate the airforce planes it like a wake up call every morning.
