Monday morning we are off to Etowah, TN for a train ride along the side of the Hiwassee River and up and aroung Bald Mountain.
When we got to Etowah, we ate lunch at the Memories diner. When we looked at the outside of the resturant we weren't sure if we wanted to go inside. But once we walked through the door we realized what a nice place this was. The wait staff was very friendly. The food was great too, my wife had cheesesteak sandwich sandwich which she enjoyed. I hade a chopped steak with onion rings. One thing I liked was they still used crushed ice in the drinks.
After lunch we spent some time in the L&N Depot Museum looking at the exhibits. The museum is run by volunteers and is free.
The trip was beautiful and relaxing. this would be a great trip to make in the fall.
