After learning that our flight to Chicago had been cancelled, we managed to get seats on the next one and finally get ourselves over to the Windy City. We had meant to make this trip in June, but due to bad weather that flight was cancelled, too. I was beginning to think that it was just not in the cards...
Our first stop was to The University of Chicago campus. We stopped to have lunch at the old standby - The Med on 57th Street. Next, it was time to walk around campus, revisit memories, and see all the changes that had been made. Well, in the place of Woodward Court stood the Graduate School of Business and behind the Reg were new dorms. A sculpture commemorates the site of the first self-sustaining chain reaction. Some more memories, some more gargoyles, and some more gothic architecture - then we were ready to go.
From the South Side, we drove over to the North Side to see Wrigley Field. Later that night, we had to have famous Chicago-style stuffed pizza from Gino's East!
