Now, I was really stoked to be in Philly on the fourth of July. As a crazy history buff, and a big geek for the movie National Treasure, I couldn't wait to get here. Someone should have warned me about the parking prices in this city. We ended up spending $17 just to park for the day. I'm used to $5 max- I miss suburbia. Also dismayed at the cost of any kind of tours around the city, and the fact nothing we really cared to see were located near eachother, we went to the Big K in town and bought two bikes and a rack for our car. This was the best idea we had all day! We were able to zoom around the city to see our destinations.
Overall, Philadephia did not impress me. I suppose I was expecting to see more historical sites. The crowds were too big to see the inside of Independence hall or the Liberty Bell (though we took pictures of it through the glass). We did see the Mutter Museum (I was glad we saved lunch for afterwards). It was quite interesting. Overall, I just had fun riding my new bike around.
I can't wait to get to Boston tomorrow!
