Driving to New Orleans
I left Ganado in the middle of a full-blown South Texas Thunderstorm, anxious to get miles behind me and on my way to my first-ever girls' weekend in New Orleans. I have been blessed in that I have found a best friend in my sister-in-law, and we decided to leave the husbands to watch the kids, and meet halfway, in New Orleans for a girl's weekend.
The trip was fairly uneventful, approximately 8 hours. As I drew closer to New Orleans, I realized I had left the directions to the Bed & Breakfast at home... I called my sister-in-law, she found a map (the tourist variety), and talked me through the drive there. With only 2 U-Turns, I think she did a great job of directing me in! I arrived at about 10:30 with only unpacking and sleep on my mind, and that's almost exactly what we did.
