Days Leading Up to and Day One
After months of planning and many bleary eyed nights in front of the computer and pouring over AAA books we're in countdown mode. With Memorial Day weekend behind us, it's now a flurry of oil changes, packing, mail stopping, getting someone to care for the cat and the what have I forgotten fears. Four more days and we'll be on the road!
Ok We made it we actually got on the road around 10:30 and after being stuck on I40 for half hour due to a car accident and helicopters landing on the highway we pulled into Laughlin at around 2:30. Registration was a breeze, I found a strawberry marguerita with my name on it and went to check out the casino while my personal porter (Roy) hauled luggage to our room. Now I know where all the old slot machines go when they retire from Vegas - they go to Laughlin. The room at the Colorado Belle is ok , best part is the view of the river from our balcony, worst part is it's kinda old and worn down and the beds sink down pretty far when sit on them, I hope they don't hurt my personal porter's back too bad. We're about ready to head out to dinner and tomorrow we head to Albuquerque!!!!
