Before taking off on my adventure I enjoyed some McDonald's for breakfast... After a long flight with a lay over in California I was finally in Oahu. Amy and Franklin were there with two lei for me! I was so exited to be in Hawaii! It was a start to a long 2 week vacation that I didn't want to end. We went back to their house opened a bottle of wine an played Wii.
Franklin dropped us off at Ala Moana. Amy and I got our nails done. Me a pedicure, Amy a manicure. Then we went over to Claire's and I got my ear pierced.
Next, we headed down to the beach for some fun in the sand. It was a little bit of a hike to the beach. We took some silly pictures and Franklin then finally picked us up after work.
Franklin, Amy, and I started our day off at Waikiki beach. I thought that we would be okay without sun tan lotion... that was a big mistake. We stayed for a couple hours then Franklin had work. Amy I decided to explore downtown Honolulu and finally ended up by Franklin's work. I got some good at McDonald's and Amy got a hot dog from Dairy Queen.
We relaxed today... but I have to say next time I will put on a little suntan lotion... I was red...
Franklin, Amy, I started at day off at Diamond Head. This was the my second time up the mountain for me. The view never gets old and the breeze is refreshing.
Even thought it was a little rainy we decided to go to Iao Valley. The Iao Needle is at the top of the climb. Amy and I call it "pinkie" There are also ponds that are shaped as the different hawaiian islands.
There is also a section that is on the way out from Iao Valley. Here there are many different archetectural building with different themes.
Then we took a roadtrip onto the Hana Highway. We stopped off by the ocean were the breeze was really relaxing and the waves could of put you to sleep. I went through what looked like a cave and the view on the other side was amazing.
We also stopped at a black sand beach which was a site to see. I have to say it wasn't as comfortable to walk on as a white sand beach...
Our last day in Maui. I took some pictures around the house. It's a beautiful view just from their house. Then we all got packed and were dropped off at the airport. Now it was time to get back to Oahu.
We started our day at the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, Hawaii. We started our adventure on the Pineapple Express which was a train which took us through the landscape of the plantation while learning about the different pineapples and plants that are grown.
We then got ourselves pineapple floats which are amazing. Fresh pineapple juice with pineapple ice cream... you can't go wrong! Then we the did a corn maze which was a lot of fun.
It is actually one of the world's largest corn mazes. In the middle it is shaped like a pineapple.
Today was a relaxing day. Amy and Franklin both had work so Franklin dropped me off in Waikiki for me to enjoy the day. I walked around on the strip and had myself a drink at the Sheraton along with some garlic french fries. Here I wrote postcards as the birds at my fries. It was a nice fun day to enjoy the weather.
I called up Amy Comer and we decided to go to Bubba Gumps for breakfast. Yes, we did order a drink and enjoyed the view! Our next stop was blowhole... which is pretty kewl to see.
Then we stopped at The shack which is a burger and fry place. It was really good and I recommend the chocolate cake shot! It's amazing. Amy then took me to a beach that she knows of. It was by a neighboorhood and we had the beach to ourselves.
To end the day we went to the place where she lives.
She has an amazing view from her house!
To start our night down in Waikiki Comer and I went to Lu Lu's Surf Club for dinner. I ordered the hawaiin pork quesdillas along with a lava flow. I ended up sending that back for a Haleakala which tasted so much better.
We then went over to Tiki's Grill and Bar for sex on the beach... very good drink.
I thought it would be a good idea to make sand angels! It's a lot harder to make a sand angel compared to snow angels. Amy and I also ran into a guy with a telescope. At first we didn't believe that it was real so we made him move it to the moon. After he did that we knew it was a reall telescope so we had him move it back to Saturn which was amazing to see. We then walked around the beach and just sat and enjoyed the view from the pier.
The tres amigos (Amy, Amy Comer, and me -- Aimee) walked around King's Village and stopped in the Rock Cafe for pictures with signs that describe ourselves. After walking around we went over to Ala Moana for lunch at Bubba Gumps. Then it was time for me to go to the airport and fly back to Chicago.
