This is a great review...I have reservations for the same hotel Four Points by Sheraton and Im also flying into Midway...I got a rental car..Hopefully that will be worth the investment...But excellent review, once again...Hope I have as much fun as you did!
"While it would have been more convenient to stay in the city, it was too expensive. If you have the money, stay in the city, if not, stay near Midway and take the train."
u were in the city. u were not in the suburbs. i live in chicago. i think u meant downtown.
if anyone of u is here during late june, early july (june 24th-july 4th) visit the taste of chicago. fun fun fun and lots of food. also the african festival is during this time. lots of unique gifts and also lots of food. of corse as she said, shopping on the magnificent mile is fabulous. for good bar fun, visit bar louie in hyde park. great atmosphere and good food. also, i know a lot of places dont have white castles, so try it. great late night snack. we are famous for our pizza and hot dogs so try them. any other questions about our beautiful city. just email me
we will be traveling to chicago in july. if you are looking for a decent motel for a great price in the heart of everything check out the chicago central hotel that's where i found great rates about 4 months ago, and from the reviews they say it is a decent hotel for the price. thanks for all the helpful info.
Me and some friends went to chi-town the weekend of june 8th thru june 11th we stayed at Hard Rock Cafe the hotel was nice and we shopped on magnificent mile my feet were wore out we also went out to some club friday night that I did not like we went to see the color purple sat. night I would have liked to have known of some other clubs to go to. I plan on going again on Aug. 10th but my family is coming to so we plan to take a trip to six flags and go down on the pier my kids never been so this will be their first trip to chi-town me and my friends go at least once a year. I would like to know about some nice lounges to go to.
I completely agree with your assessment of Dock Street Cafe. I was there July 11, 2007, and our beers were small, the waiter was less than personable, and the food was what capped off our experience. I ordered the "house specialty" of fish and chips, and received 2 pieces of overfried fish (?) that I attempted to scrape the fish out of, and my boyfriend got a chicken sandwich which he described as a recently microwaved frozen rubbery ground chicken patty. Our waffle fries were good though! We are not picky people and I felt ripped off when we paid for this dinner.
