It was our long waited trip, I planned it bit early :-( I realized it on the day before going. I called up at maid of mist and cave of wind and they said its too much of ice in river and we are not operating. We were kind of disappointed but finally decided to give it a chance.
We started at 6 in the morning from bloomington, IL but our luck...my flight got cancelled. We took another flight at 10 from here and reached Buffalo by 4. I reserved my rental car from Avis but when i reched at counter she said NY law says $110 for driver below 25, one more obstacle in our trip. Finally i got car from Hertz and we headed to Niagara falls.
We dumped our luggage at HOJO near the falls, Hotel is not that great but affordable.
After freaking out for some time in search of Indian resturant, we jumped out of joy when we saw "Pammi da dhaba". We rushed in and oredered chhole and lassi. We marched ahead to get our first glimpse of Niagara.
We reached to American side of falls and the words came out of my mouth were GREAT, AWSOME. We ran towards horse shoe f all...its amazing...thousand of gallons of water per second, God's one of the miracle.
It was bit cold there so we went back to HOJO and relaxed for sometime, We again went to see colors in the night but before that, yes food. we took buffet at indian restaurant near ballon ride but it was OK.
Enthu of watching falls in night were pushing us and we tried some tricks on our digicam to capture that but no luck again :-)
So after lots of struggles we finally made our day at falls, thanks to tanvi, she more enthu than me and managed me very well.
Try to plan your niagara trip in late may or june
If you are under 25 don't book your car from Avis.
