This has been one of the most exciting trips to anitcupate since my travel days started. We have planned every apsect including flight (three of them), hotels (three of them), dinner reservations, attractions, etc on our own. Most of my longer foreign travel has been organized through a larger group or I had a friend living in a country who planned the details so there is no telling how it will.
The hardest part of the trip preparation has been, no doubt, the marathon training for Stockholm. Derek and I are lucky enoughto have a friend who is an ultra-athlete map out our entire training schedule since mid-February. Over the past three months we have learnd much about ourselves and each other on these long runs. For instance, choco guu is a great treat in cold weather running but try to down it in wramer weatehr and be prepared for something not so delightful. Also, my body which loves just about any food out there still rejects any type of recovery drink (especially endurox) even with the freshest berries mixed in. Luckily, our coach, Taneen, says vanilla milkshakes work just as good! :D
I would not trade any of this planning experience (even the bad and ugly) for the world but at the same time - I am looking forward to our last long run being over...

You will do great -- and your plan is just as I would have advised!! Slow and steady... AND LOTS of fluids (not just water) EARLY in the race!!! It will pay off later on through the day. Just enjoy it and listen to your bodies. Take it easy and just think about the finish line and the massages that await you when you are done!!!
So Proud!!! Coach T

Enjoy the rest of the trip!

Congrats to both of you...I now DEMAND that you do nothing but drink and get massages for the remainder of the trip....enjoy
P.S. loved the viking hairstyles, too. :)
