Back home in Melbourne
So now we are back home in Melbourne., having seen heaps.
My advice:
* Do sky tower (auckland) at night, and ask about dinner in the rotating resturant. It is not a cheap menu, but what you pay for dinner entitles you to amazing views, even better food, and you were going to spend money on dinner and the tower anyway - combine the two and treat yourself.
* Bring about $30 extra per attraction, so that you can buy the photos and videos. It is too hard to take them yourself often.
*Hire your ski gear - it is dirt cheap, and it means you don't need heaps of clothing
*Don't bring heaps of clothing in winter. We both made this mistake, and it wasn't needed. A good thermal top, a t-shirt and coat should do you for every location we went. I didn't wear 2 pairs of pants, 3 of my jumpers or my thermal socks at all, but I had to lug them all across NZ.
*Pay the extra for the Shotover jet at Queenstown. We did and it was amazing!
*I personally didn't like the antarctic center, larissa did. I felt it was a waste of $30, where she thought it was well spent. It might just be that I hate birds, and penguins are not an exception. The antarctic part at the Christchurch mueseum is fantastic though.
Good luck! any questions post them
take a look.
